6 Reasons to Start an Adventure Blog in 2018
The change over of the calendar has happened and we quickly closing in on completing the first month. If you have been thinking about starting a blog right now is the time to do it! We have put together a list of ten reasons why 2018 is perfect for staring an adventure blog.
1. Easy and Cheap
Online tools that allow you to start a blog or website have become extremely easy to set up and use. Many of them will allow you to start a site for free. Keeping in mind that the free ones will have some limitations, but systems like WordPress and Wix provide a ton of features right out of the box. Within minutes you could have your site live and posted your first post. A site does not have to be extravagant and full of content and options. All bloggers started somewhere!
2. A Home for All Your Content
Having a blog gives you a place to house all of your content in one place. Even though you are posting on several different social media platforms having a single place for people to find you is key. Also, having a blog can give you a place to share longer stories and collections of photos. It can also allow you to branch out and provide great content related to many different topics.
3. Share Your Ideas and Adventures
Not everyone likes to know what you are doing every moment of the day, however, they do like to follow adventures. Sharing your adventures, teaching them something new, showing the behind the scenes looks into your life are all topics that are great for blog posts. Your blog can be your sounding board for all things you. Never forget that your stories are your’s and no one else can tell it.
One of the things that I have found with years of blogging is that I have gained many great friendships. I have met adventure buddies, trail family along the way. Sometimes talk to many of my social friends more often than I talk to my own family. We plan adventures, dream, swap stories, and gear tips. As you build up your community and following new friendships and old bonds will grow. Stay honest, be true, and just enjoy the adventure of your life.
Many of my connections and friendships, I have been involved in some really neat things over the years. As you begin to branch out from just blogging on your own blog you will begin to gust blog, connect with other adventurers and partner up with them or even companies to do cool things. Our Hell Hike and Raft adventures and the Laurel Highlands Experience are both examples of how outdoor bloggers came together to enjoy an adventure and connect in real life.
6. Giving Back
As a blogger and social media influencer, you have the ability to connect with people at different levels than most. Having the ability to connect others with opportunities, giving back of your time, as well as giving money or physical items back to the outdoor community is something that words can not begin to describe.
Taking all of these things into consideration there best time to start your blog is right now! Happy Blogging.
